Superkings - Hit The Ground Running / Wolves And Ravens
Superkings are a unique band in the UK at the moment, where as everyone else is trying to squeeze themselves into skinny jeans and are beating the sh*t out of their guitars, along they come looking liking the finest English dandies (from various parts of the Northwest) playing bluesy piano rock.
The most impressive thing thoug on the joint single Hit The Ground Running / Wolves And Ravens is the voice of Dave Wright. He might not have the most rock n roll name but boy can he sing. His vocals ooze Nick Cave, Stuart Staples, Tom Waitts...sometimes all three at once.
Expect this band to get a pretty decent sized cult following if they can keep up to this level, the single is out now through Feedback Records.
