Lady Sovereign - Hoodie
The hoodie has taken a bit of a beating over the last twelve months as everyubody from old dears in their little bungalows to the mainstream press have jumped on the bandwagon and tried to ban the evil garment that is a warm sweater with a hoodattached.
Lady Sovereign is having none of that on Hoodie her latest Basement Jaxx produced single, she tries to put across a more positive image of the hoodie, while at the same time pointing out that it’s not actually the hoodie that is the problem it’s the little shits that wear them that cause the problems.
As usual it contains enough humour to have Kay and Gervais looking over their shoulders and is painfully hip thanks to the production. Can’t see it hitting the top forty as her last single did but the album should be well worth checking out next year, as she would be live no doubt (any chance of rescheduling that cancelled York gig please Sov?)
The single is out now on Island Records and is available on 2xCD and 7”.
