Telegraphs - I Don’t Navigate By You

Every once in a while a young rock band comes along that makes me think the future of ‘rock’ music its traditional sense is still looking quite rosy, it isn’t going to drown in its own pool of Emo and no matter how many times The Darkness and the reincarnations of them that have followed try, 80’s big hair isn’t going to make a comeback either.

The latest band to give hope to black wearing masses are Telegraphs, sure they aren’t heavy in that way, but they have an edgy, gritty side to them that is mired very much in the rock camp and they are stunningly good.

New single I Don’t Navigate By You is the latest track i’ve heard from them, following on from the brilliant Your First Love Is Dead. It starts off with a delicious bass and guitar opening that if anything has them nearer to a band like The Rapture. Then things really kick in and they move away from that into a moody rock track with some pulsating vocals.

The single is released on 16th February and the band are heading out on tour as well, check their MySpace pasge for dates.
