I first chanced upon Busta Rhymes when me and my mate started drunkenly singing along to ”...I Got You All In Check” doing the Whooo ha Whooo ha bits andthinking we were very funny. To set the scene and make us look even sadder than before we were in the middle of a kebab shop at three in the morning asking the owner Trev (we didn’t know his name so just called him that each time we visited) to put it back on again.

Since then i’ve kinda had a grudging respect for him without ever really getting on that well with his music. I Love My Chick though is the best thing i’ve heard from him in a good while. It’s the second single from The Big Bang and features the talents of Kelis and Will.i.Am which doesn’t hinder old Busta.

It’s a bit more of a soulful hip hop track than you are probably used to from the growler, but it fits the current summer vibe perfectly. It’s out now through Interscope Records.
