The Boyfriends - I Love You
Debut single release on Boobytrap Records for hotly tipped outfit The Boyfriends.
This limited seven inch single will probably be the first taster for most people of what to expect from them, despite the fact that they have been together for nearly four years.
In that time they’ve honed their sound and have a played a number of very successful live shows, had a demo played on Radio 1 by three seperate DJ’s and played at Glastonbury....so everything looks to be heading in the right direction for them.
The only thing I can see holding them back is the influence, or similiarity (depending on the singers viewpoint) in his voice and lyrical style to Morrissey. Don’t let that put you off though, Martin Wallace has a fine voice and his lyrics are at times funny and laced with phrases and situations that you’ll be able to relate to.
I Love You is out now and is backed by the excellent Remember.
