James Blunt - I Really Want You

It was only the other day that I was talking to The Manager who many of you will know from his caustic reviews he writes for this very website. We were talking about reviewing and how he hadn’t heard anything he’d hated for a while, which is half the fun.

Maybe I should have passed the new James Blunt single onto him then. I Really Want You starts off ok for the first ten seconds with a kind of strange ambient sound going on, then it goes rapidly down hill as his vocal comes into it, warbling away with that strange singing voice of his. The lyrics are as pitiful as you would expect from a guy who whenever I’ve seen him on TV seems emotionless

You’re listening to the sound of my broken heart”. No Blunt…that’s the sound of my broken stereo thanks to you.
