Trashcan Sinatras - I Wish You’d Met Her

I personally think it’s about time a lot of people took a long hard look at the Trashcan Sinatras and re-evaluated their opinion of the group…starting with me.

You see when the group first started out I was at the age where the NME were king and I foolishly trusted their opinion on most things. I’ve since learnt the error of my ways and the same could be said of my relationship with the Trashcan Sinatras, at least based on this single anyway.

You see now that I think the NME are shit, i’m happy to go back over old groups that they didn’t deem cool enough at the time, so when the new single landed on my desk it was the perfect opportunity.

I Wish You’d Met Her is a beautifully sung, melodically played (love those jangly guitars) track that deserves to be bursting out of every radio this blazing hot summer. Ok they probably won’t get the radio play and the summer has been wet, but don’t let that spoil my vision for this song, it’s got that wonderful mix of melancholy and uplifting in just the right mix.

The single is out now and the album follows in September.
