Jamie Lidell - Jim

Jamie Lidell returns with his third album, simply titled Jim it’s quick and easy title is an indication of what to expect from the follow up to Multiply.

It’s a straight up soul and r ‘n’ b record, a million miles away from his early electronica days with Christian Vogel. At times it really flourishes and shows a richness that drags it up way above most current records in this genre. Unfortunately a number of tracks are also light on decent lyrics and somewhat painted by numbers funk tracks that don’t really do anything too special.

A decent record from Mr Lidell but I can’t help but feeling it could have been a lot better!
