Johnathan Rice - Kiss Me Goodbye
The singer songwriter market has started to look extremely cluttered in recent months with a whole host of individuals stepping on stage to try and grab a foothold in this congested field.
Luckily in and amongst the dross and drudgery that seem quite common place you always get a beacon of hope. Johnathan Rice fulfilled his early promise recently with the release of his debut album Trouble Is Real, which brought in rave reviews everywhere, including ourselves at TBS.
While not exactly an example of what to expect from the album (such is the variety of tracks on the long player), Kiss Me Goodbye is a fine choice of single. It’s one of the more upbeat and straightforward songs he could have plucked from his debut opus and one that shouldn’t struggle too hard for radio play.
A major talent that shouldn’t be ignored.
If you are lucky enough to be going to the V Festival then you can catch him live as he’s just been added to the bill on the Volvic new band arena. The V Festival takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford on 20th August and at Weston Park, Staffordshire on 21st August.
Not content with being just a musical talent, he makes a big screen appearance as Roy
Orbison in the new Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line, starring Joaquin Phoenix. You can watch the trailer for it here.
