Dan Sartain - Join Dan Sartain

Described as the “post punk Johnny Cash” I expected a little bit more from Dan Sartain than you get on his latest album Join Dan Sartain (his third to date if my maths is right).

Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with the album in many respects, it’s a decent enough listen and you have to take into account that he’s only 23 so plenty of chance for him to develop his sound and identity. It’s the identity part that I think lets him down a little, it sounds too much like a lot of other acts out there.

As a live performer he’s supposed to be very entertaining and is touring up until the end of October in the UK. The album is out now on One Little Indian.
