The Strokes - Juicebox
Boy oh boy, the pressure is really on for The Strokes to deliver a killer album this time round, Room On Fire was only a steady seller in comparison to Is This It? and certainly wasn’t met with the same enthusiasm by fans or critics.
Thats said they had a near impossible task in following up the debut and a bit of time out of the limelight has allowed them to re-group, re-focus and come back stronger than ever with the first single Juicebox.
The hair is bigger and the clothes are darker as you can see above, this is also reflected in the music, sinister growling riffs open this song and the vocals from Julian sound as gutteral and raw as they’ve ever sounded on the chorus.
It’s certainly a promising start on the comeback trail, lets hope the album First Impressions Of Earth is just as good when it’s released in January. The single is out on the 5th December and is available on 2 x CD and 7”.
