G.Love - Lemonade
G.Love has cobbled together an all star cast for Lemonade with people like Jack Johnson (no surprise as it’s on his label), Ben Harper, Special Sauce (again no surprise) and Marc Broussard all popping up at various points on the album.
The best tracks though for me feature Lateef The Truth Speaker and Blackalicious, it’s on these collaborations that G.Love does what he does best, hip-hop, blues with a smattering of jazzy funk thrown in. Unfortunately these tracks are all too rare as more often than not he settles for middle of the road strums that lead nowhere.
