Nick Warren - Lima GU35

The Global Underground compilation series is well established now and Nick Warren is a regular contributor himself, but despite this it’s clear that neither the label or the DJ are resting on their laurels.

Lima GU35 is the latest one in the series and it could be potentially the best one I’ve ever heard. Spread over two CDs it never drops a beat or has a wasted track anywhere across it. From the moment things kick off on disc one with Paul Rogers atmospheric Intro to the closing moments of Bosworth by Perc it’s a stella compilation.

The highlights come thick and fast but the overriding quality is the genuine consistency shown, pulsing beats, electronic ambience and down tempo house all make it a cohesive listen with a good groove maintained throughout. I can just imagine listening to this late at night with the soothing beats working their magic, especially Alex Dolby and his Long Beach track.
