Avenged Sevenfold - Live In the LBC & Diamonds In The Rough

As most regular reviewers will know i’m not a big rock fan, however I will have a stab at listening to anything, it’s the only way to be open to finding something you wouldn’t normally look twice at. So here I am reviewing a live dvd and an extra disc of rarities from a band that i’m not into it. Not easy but it does give a new perspective on them I guess.

The 12 track live DVD is the main point of this release, it shows them in all their brutal strength live, plenty of energy and a heavy sound that matches their records, in fact the few travks i’ve heard that are on here do match the record pretty well, which is good but it would be nice to see them break out from faithfully recreating the sound occasionally.

On the rarities you get some tracks that didn’t make the last album and a couple of cover versions. For a band that is sso influenced by 80’s and early 90’s rock it’s not a huge step to take, but tyhey pull off pretty good versions of Pantera and Iron Maiden on Walk and Flash Of The Blade.

Live In The LBC & Diamonds In The Rough by Avenged Sevenfold is out now through Warner.
