Louis XIV - God Killed The Queen

I just don’t see a reason for some bands to exist…..Louis XIV unfortunately are one of them.

God Killed The Queen is taken from the bands debut album The Best Little Secrets Are Kept and surprisingly has been getting some good reviews, i’m pleased to say though that our reviewer Michael got them spot on when he described them as “cribbing generously from the Rolling Stones songbook” and then went on to say “There is derivative, and there is larceny, and Louis XIV fall in the latter”. It’s true they just sound like so many bands that have gone before them.

Sounding like your heroes isn’t in itself the crime, people like the Ordinary Boys have made a career out of it, the trick to it, is to steal the best bits from them, be inspired by their best work not their worst. Louis XIV don’t do that they’ve made a real hash of mimicking the Rolling Stones and The Who on this track, it is i’m afraid one minute and fifty five seconds of musical hell and i’d put it on par with that frog song.

The single is released on the unsuspecting UK public on the 18th July.
