Siouxsie - Mantaray
Enchanting front-woman for Siouxsie And The Banshees and The Creatures, steps out with a debut solo album and it’s a real surprising affair.
I’m as fan of hers from previous works, but I’d probably not put her in my top god knows how many, so i’m looking at this album as sometging of a neutral rather than an obsessive, the depth of songwriting and the range of music she has gone for is brave, but more importantly it really works.
Into A Swan may have a beautiful title but musically it’s a dark and heavy track, If It Doesn’t Kill You and Sea Of Tranquility are two of the most beautiful tracks you’ll hear in a long time and definitely my favourites from Mantaray. I’ll be amazed if one or both them don’t make future singles for her.
