Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Me And My Imagination

Me And My Imagination is Sophie Ellis Bextors second single release following a period of absence from the pop scene.

I have to say I hadn’t missed her presence, I can’t say I dislike her or like her. Not since GroveJet or Spiller have I really noticed much of her work. Its ok as background music, very inoffensive I just don’t think I could remember any of the song titles, however since 2001 she has had six top ten hits with only one of the seven released not achieving this (Music Gets The Best Of Me went to number 14 in 2002).

Perhaps part of the problem is her voice always sounds the same, its pretty distictive. Very British accent and not so strong vocals. However as with most of the tracks she has been involved in can’t say I hated it, but on the other hand didn’t really like it either. Imagine this will have some success if only because the national radio shows seem to love her and will play it over and over, not really for me.
