Mexican Institute Of Sound - Mejico Maxico
Mexican Institute of Sound (aka Camilo Lara) steps away from his day job for a time to release his new album. Following hot on the heels of last years Pinata comes the new effort Mejico Maxico.
The head honcho at EMI Mexico takes his computer and collection of vinyl and transforms it into a lengthy (15 tracks) album of South American infused electronica that bubbles along really nicely. It’s not the best electronica album i’ve heard and the 8 additional tracks are overkill as they almost become part of the album itself meaning it weighs in at 23 tracks, but a good summer album with some nice gentle beats.
