Mariah Carey - Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel

Quite possibly the most ridiculous figure in the World of music delivers us further evidence that not only is she a delluded individual who thinks what she’s producing now is world class, but also that her inner and outer diva shines as bright as ever in her eyes, matched only by the size of her ego.

The album is almost entirely self penned with a bit of help) and it’s clear to see why she hasn’t written more in the past as tracks like Obsessed, Up Out My Face, It’s A Wrap and Angels Cry are ghastly. Production wise it’s super slick r’n’b for the masses while she quivers and breathes over the top of it.

Her voice, once something to be admired (not my sort of music but she was impressive on her first two albums) is now almost a complete shadow of times gone by, with bits added into the background like an instrument it’s embarrasingly bad stuff.

While you can’t denyu in her younger days she had a great voice and gave some decent pop moments (Fantasy etc), those days are a long time gone now and she lives on only in her own head and with a fairly easily convinced percentage of joe public.
