Goldblade - Mutiny

Despite this being album number five (or six depending which source you believe), I’ve never listened to a full Goldblade album before, sure I’d heard odd singles but that only gives you a brief snapshot.

From listening to Mutiny it seems I may have underestimated these Manchester punk veterans. One look at the cover and it’s easy to dismiss them as something of a novelty. Listen to album tracks on here like Riot! Riot! and City Of Ghost’s and it’s pretty clear that they have fire in their belly still after all those years.

While their isn’t huge variety in their songs you have to say that what they do, they do well and when you chuck in a banjo reprisal at the end it offers a lovely way to sign off what is a very competent album.
