The Herbaliser - Nah’ Mean Nah’m Sayin

Featuring the duo’s long time collaborator Jean Grae comes one of the nastiest sounding head nodding hip-hop vibers released in 2005.

Taken from the album Take London, the excellent Nah’ Mean Nah’m Sayin features arse biting lyrics from Grae, a funky as set of beats and then a rather lovely brass section thrown into the mix to finish things off.

The remix duties on this package have been handed over to Platinum Pied Pipers who takes us down to a more laidback LA stoner vibe, it all hangs together nicely on the mix, but for me the original is still the best version on offer. To complete the tracks on offer you get Gadget Funk as a b-side, a robotic instrumental hip-hop workout (new genre alert – get the copyright ready).

The single is out now on Ninja Tune.
