Mach Schau - Necessary Evils

This is the second Demo EP I’ve had sent from Mach Schau who are probably the finest band I’ve ever heard from Southampton. But then they only really have Artful Dodger and Craig David for competition!

Still you can only beat what’s put in front of you as the old football saying goes and they do this comfortably. The Score Draw rattles along with a jerky punk-new wave feel to it throughout, it’s not quite as heavy as the tracks on the other EP I reviewed but it’s still darn good.

No complaints from Number 28 or Vicious Circles either which make up the rest of the EP, though they do struggle to reach the heights of the opener. Taking into account that these are only demos though it’s a good solid start from the band and should act as a useful launch pad for them.
