Various Artists - Neon Nights Mixtape
Neon Nights Mixtape is very much a snapshot of what is happening in the UK at the moment, where acts that are influenced by both dance and rock elements are burtsting out from the underground and starting to storm the charts, all seamlessly mixed together across the sixteen tracks.
The highlights include Kate Nash with her leftfield pop track Caroline’s A Victim, The Gossip who contribute the top ten smash Standing In The Way Of Control and Shut Your Eyes And You’ll Burst Into Flames with the infectious Drop The Decade.
It doesn’t hit the mark everytime, but then it’s very rare when these collections do, it’s though an interesting compilation, at least for the time being. The album is out now on DMC.
