Nigel Of Bermondsey - Nigel Of Bermondsey

I hated Gay Dad with a real passion when they were in their over hyped pomp, tracks like Joy and To Earth With Love may have connected with the record buying public in some way, but they left me cold.

Nigel Hoyle was one of the founding members of that band and I have to say that, I didn’ have high-hopes for his self-titled Nigel Of Bermondsey album when it arrived with me.

It is though a dazzling collection of pop songs that has a warm twist running throughout them, a psychedelic edge that wraps up some of the Beach Boys style harmonies perfectly, disguising some very serious subject matter in the lyrics.

If you want a few tracks to check out then take a peek at Overload, Maximum Wheelie and I Believe In You.
