The Beat Surrender

Nine Black Alps are one of my favourite up and coming bands at the moment, they possess a ferocity and aggression within their music, as displayed on the debut album Everything Is, they aren’t trying to be clever, they aren’t trying to be anything other than a hard rocking band.

Behind the swagger and the bluster though they also know how to knock out a damn fine hook, Unsatisfied is a perfect example of that, its anthemic qualities apparant in abundance from the opening line of “ten out ten for a race already run” through to the big guitar riffs that see out the track. It’s a record that grabs you by the throat and screams ‘hit’, up close and in your face. Nine Black Alps for drill seregeant?

The new b-side is also worth checking out, as they did on the odd track on the album, they like to show you a softer side now and again. Lost House is just that, soft and delicate. Nine Black Alps to be the new Andrex puppy?

Nope even I haven’t got a clue what i’m talking about now, think we’ll just leave Nine Black Alps to be Nine Black Alps, it’s much easier that way.

The single is out on 2×7” and Cd single on the 8th August.
