Ambershift - No More Fuss
I never feel good giving less than great reviews to up and coming bands, at the end of the day i’ve got a great deal of respect for anybody that gets a band together and makes music. Unfortunately it’s a tough job and I have to be honest which is a shame for Ambershift.
This four piece from the North-East have come up with an album of melodic indie-rock, No More Fuss though sounds like it wants to be The Jam, sounds like it wants to walk in Oasis shoes for a while and comes up well short on both. It’s all done well enough (especially the rhythm section) it’s just lacking in tunes and hooks to give you something to cling to.
It’s the second album now and I haven’t heard the first so i’m unsure if this is on a par, I guess if it sounds your sort of thing though you’ll find out for yourself.
