The Automatic - Not Accepted Anywhere
The Automatic have pretty much burst onto the scene from nowhere it would seem this year. Look a bit deeper into things though and you start to understand why the single Monster breezed into the number four slot with it’s infectious sing along chorus.
You see this is a band that have been gigging solidly for a year or so now supporting the likes of The Ordinary Boys and Hard-Fi, appearing on any TV programme that will have them and generally working their arses off.
So you can’t really begrudge them their success, the album though for me is a little bit patchy, some real killer songs like the singles Monster and Raoul as well as my favourite on here the brilliantly catchy On The Campaign Trail. Too often though they do pop rock by numbers and it loses its way slightly.
Not Accepted Anywhere is out now through B-Unique Records.
