Olympus Mons - Nothings Gonna Spoil My Day Today

London trio Aaron, Norbert & Moran are Olympus Mons and these guys are a breath of fresh air for the indie-rock scene. Their debut album Nothings Gonna Spoil My Day Today has recently been released on Dad Records.

The band have aimed for a hectic feel and they have definitely accomplished this. They build the pace up brilliantly with some potential hits like Let The First Time Be The Last, Late Again, The Song of Home and Martial Law to name but a few and the balance these tracks with two great interludes Shall We Jump The Broom and Savanna-La-Mar, which give you an incredible feel for the bands talents and an excitement to see the band live.

The Interludes for me were the real highlight of the album. The band have well an truly won me over and I am sure they pick up many new fans over the coming months with this debut album. I don’t think I have instantly enjoyed an album this much since The Kooks released Inside In/Inside Out. The band have been out supporting some of the big names this year including Babyshambles and The Maccabees and I am sure they are ready to impress in their own right on their upcoming tour.
