Black Affair - Pleasure Pressure Point
Steve Mason makes a welcome return with another project, building on the success of the Tak! Attack! EP last year and this years Its Real single, with a full album that came out last week.
The album is a bit of a mixed bag for me, threatening to be brilliant in places, but then in others simply meandering through a fog of 80’s inspired synth. When Pleasure Pressure Point does shine though it’s as bright as anything you’ll hear this year.
Japanese Happening is the first song that grabs your attention, Reel To Reel is another good contender, but the best on the album for me is Will She Come which I think is an exceptional track both musically and in the emotions it conjures up in the lyrics.
