Una Corda - Proper Position For Floating (1881) EP
This is a strange old EP for me to review I have to say. When it comes to rock music i’m generally used to vocalists featuring at some point in the proceedings, but not in the world according to Una Corda.
The Birmingham five piece (two guitarists, two bass players and one drummer) describe themselves as making “heavy music for light sleepers” and on listening to this four track EP it’s quite easy to see why.
Things start off slowly and then gradually build up on the opening track, then suddenly your hit with an extra burst of guitar, then things dip again, but no wait on it’s getting heavier again as guitars, bass and drums collide in a frenzy.
Probably not my usual sort of thing, one for The Manager (he’s got the long hair for it), however I can appreciate what they are trying to do and the music has enough interest within it to not require the vocals. Oh and it even sounds ok with fireworks going off in the background!
If you want to get hold of this or the band then head to the website.
