X-Press 2 - Raise Your Hands The Greatest Hits
X-Press 2 have been togeter for a number of years now and the trio are celebrating that by collecting all their best tracks together onto an album that goes by the title Raise Your Hands Greatest Hits.
They are of course best known for their massive hit single Lazy which features vocals from David Byrne. It’s still a classic pop song and opens the album in fine style here. Likewise their other collaborations are all pretty good, with Kurt Wagner on Give It, Witchi Tai To with Tim De Laughter and the brilliant Fire with Afrika Bambaataa.
These tracks shine out like beacons, which leaves the rest of the album kind of meandering in their wake. The other tracks don’t have the sparkle brought to them by their illustrious guests and it’s these that stop it from being a brilliant album.
