The Rifles - Repeated Offender

This one begins with an opening that creates mental images of Ewan Mcgregor and his drug influenced bezzies pegging it down a road somewhere in Scotland rambling on about a lust for life or summat like that followed by a chorus not too disamilair to the haunting echos of Ghost Town by The Specials. An interesting mix which on the whole is carried off well into a pretty upbeat song.

The Rifles have been championed on most of the valid music channels and by more mainstream programmes such as Soccer AM so they have the right sort of friends with the right sort of viewers to achieve that bigger audience and in turn mass appeal .

Additionally when you have people like hit maker extraordinaire Ian Broudie in the mix (barely half pun apologized for) with regards to production then you are on to a winner. But you still need the tunes and this is a decent effort that hopefully will take this band on to the next step.

With respect to Ian Broudie- 3 Lions is anthemic and captured a great moment but it is not in the same league as World in Motion. There I feel better for getting that off my chest.
