Vanlustbader - Rock N Roll Part III
Not sure what happened to parts 1 & 2 – maybe it’s one of those intriguing titles where there never was a part 1 or 2. Or more accurately….who cares cos part 3 ain’t much cop. This song could have easily been lifted from Screamadelica and have Bobby Gillespie glam rocking all over it…then severly being watered down and having the soul ripped out of it.
You get the idea.
The actual music content is fine and there is a decent amount going on in the song – it’s simply not anything that has not been heard before. And when the song is advocating how much the band loves rock and roll they should understand that rock and roll, or music in general, is about finding something new and vibrant and going with it to make people stand up and take notice.
This falls way wide of that mark. It’s not awful, but I won’t be using Google to find parts 1 & 2 anytime soon. Rock N Roll Part III is out now by Vanlustbader.
