William - Self In Fiction

William are another one of those bands that seem to be getting quite a bit of exposure at the moment with plays and fans in the form of Steve Harris, Zane Lowe and John Kennedy.

Their album Self In Fiction has a lo-fi feel about it which I do like, musically it’s really good and the guitar riffs stuck in my head for hours after listening to it. The problem for me is the vocals, they sound like a strangulated Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! and as anyone who has seen them live will testify they aren’t the greatest live.

Maybe this odd vocal is part of the appeal, which is all fair enough but it just doesn’t appeal to me.
