David Jordan - Set The Mood

When I was growing up in the 80’s and 90’s my musical taste was a damn sight narrower than it is now, because of that I was never really into the likes Terrence Trent D’Arby and Lenny Kravitz, in fact the nearest I came to either of those two gents was probably Prince and Soul II Soul.

I don’t particularly feel like I missed out on two much not being a fan of those gents, but they are obvious reference points for David Jordan, who more than likely was a fan of them. I say that because listening to his debut album Set The Mood, with it’s soul meets polished pop-rock it’s the first time in years i’ve heard anything like this. His voice is silky and fits the music perfectly… in fact the only person who I can think of doing anything like this at the moment is Nate James.
