Shmoo - She Machine / Plaything
Sexy electronica (sextronica anyone?) has been on an upward curve over the last couple of years thanks to the likes of Goldfrapp and Ladytron bringing it into the charts on a regular basis.
You can add to that list another group who have a as equally a sassy front women as Miss Alison Goldfrapp, they are Shmoo and they are a quivering musical beast of sexuality.
Drawn from all over the country they formed together in Manchester and have created a real buzz in the two years they have been together. Much of the attention will quite rightly fall on sultry vocalist Rowena Scott, as it’s her simpering vocals that draw you in. But dig a bit deeper on She Machine and especially on Plaything and its the music behind the voice that gives it the stage to shine on.
She Machine/Plaything is out now on Fat Northerner Records on limited (300) 7” single.
