Silicon Vultures - Silicon Vultures EP

Lot of noise for a three piece band, Silicon Vultures are a synth based punk band. Vocally reminded me of The Automatic, squeaky high pitched scream which occasionally did go to proper singing. However unlike The Automatic they only have one vocalist. If he is to carry this off he will need a pretty good vocal range. Howling Stallion Teenfeast starts with a computer sound effect, manic drumming and part shouted, part screamed vocals, fast furious and screaming out to be played live.

This ep has five tracks all very punk influenced, Joy Division brought up to date, good beat throughout with enough twists to keep you interested. This could be a band to look out for in 2007. However if Penny from The Automatic were to sing all there vocals I doubt anyone would stay interested for very long. The uniqueness may be the downfall as it can leave each track sounding the same.
