Matt Kebbell - Skinny Dip

Matt Kebbell is a young, singer-songwriter who was born in Pontefract (which being a local lad means I really want to like him), was raised in Nottingham and now lives in London…it’s unclear if he plans to retire further down the country to Eastbourne in his later years).

Skinny Dip is his debut album, 13 songs released through his own label Tramps And Bums, many of which have been showcased on stages in London and through touring with the Electroacoustic Club.

It’s clear from listening to the album that Matt can sing and that he writes intimately personal songs on a variety of themes, it’s just a shame that everything is so sparse and one paced as it comes across as a bit of a dull listen despite it’s obvious qualities.

It's a strange day, no colours no shapes, no sound in my head, I forget who I am, when i'm with you. -- Goldfrapp
