Simply Red - Songs Of Love

As far as hate figures in music go none rank higher in my eyes than Mick Hucknall from Simply Red. I find the guy absolutely detestable and always have done, he has no redeaming features and the news that Simply Red are finally saying goodbye with a series of farewell concerts is wonderful news.

The only downside is that it is likely we are going to see more of this repungent figure as a solo artist. Seriously it will definitely happen so don’t think the problem is going away…it’s just reinventing itself in a different guise…like the devil himself.

Anyway, one of the bands final releases is this strange album Songs Of Love. Released only at Tesco’s stores (yeah there is a true music lovers decision if ever I saw one) it features whimsical soppy pop ballads a plenty like Say You Love Me, You Make Me Feel So Brand New, Stars, If You Don’t Know Me By Now and Holding Back The Years.

Of course it’s bloody awful, what did you really expect?
