Stateless - Stateless

It’s with a great deal of local pride (but no bias) that I can say I really didn’t see this one coming…Stateless a little known band from Leeds (little known for now anyway) have produced probably the best debut album of the year and possibly even the best album of the year full stop.

The self titled album oozes with atmosphere, sweeping strings, guitars, drums, turntable beats and vocals that at times give hint to Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Coldplay’s Chris Martin without stepping on either of their toes. It pulls off a combination of heartbreaking romantiscism mixed with uplifting emotions, dragging you from pillar to post as it takes you on it’s emotional journey.

A seriously talented, multicultural band that have an epic sound all of their own….they are going to be massive. The album is out now through !K7.
