Akira The Don & Wade Crescent - Stunners 130
I’ve been a fan of Akira The Don for a few years now so it’s nice to see him pick up where he left off with his solo album, with a blinding mix tape done with Wade Crescent.
This really is a paryty album from start to finish and could prove to be the album that people use, to get everybody out of their overcrowded kitchen at house parties and into their big, spacious, yet strangely always empty front room. Put this on and the people will come..and the people will dance.
It’s all stylishly mixed and mashed and yes if you thought you just heard a track but have just done a double tape, thinking no it can’t have been…then yes it probably was. Everything is used here from a porn tape sample, to The Smiths, from them to Usher and then Nirvana.
