The Crucible - The Crucible EP

The singer for this lot sounds a lot like Mike Muir from Suicidal Tendencies. Sadly the songs don’t sound anything like S.T; for starters they’re pretty basic from a music point of view composed of simple guitars and drumming.

The E.P. seems a bit lethargic to begin with and maintains a meandering pace throughout. I can’t imagine the pit going mental to any of this, it’s more your ‘stand back and nod’ type of stuff. I’m not sure where they are trying to go with this, but I’m certain they don’t get there – this is one of those outfits that tries to fit several ideas into each song, rather than sticking to one, meaning the songs are disjointed and arrhythmic as a result. Not to everybody’s taste, this sort of thing.

THE CRUCIBLE? SLOW AND CIRCULAR.
