Zero 7 - The Garden: Remixes & Rarities

Sam Hardaker and Henry Binns (aka Zero 7) have a Christmas treat in store for their fans with the release of a digital EP, that will see some rarities and remixes released, with the tracks all based around their third album The Garden.

As a gold selling album the tracks in their original form will be familiar to a lot of people. A number of the remixes here do take on a number of elements from the originals with various dance beats thrown into shake things up.

The best two of these are the You’re My Flame (Justus Koncke Vocal Mix) and the excellent Futures (Metronomy Remix) both of which hit the spot and really have your foot tapping along to the beats. Dilla does a reasonable job with Throw It All Away, Pepe Braddock and Dabrye are less successful with the two mixes they contribute to the EP.

An essential for fans of the band, however for anyone else it probably doesn’t have enough strength to warrant a purchase, particularly if you have three good albums to go at by the band that you haven’t bought yet.
