Various Artists - The Golden Hour Book II
The Golden Hour is a monthly cabaret taking place in Edinburgh and it’s back with a second volume it’s book of short stories and poetry with an acompanying CD that features a really interesting and diverse range of artists.
I have to say the book itself didn’t do a great deal for me, the poetry I could take or leave and aside from a couple of short stories I found it heavy going and had to force myself to get through it.
The CD though makes up for the book, with acts like Mat Riviere, Vadoinmessico, Asazi Space Funk Explosion, Diddley Squat and the brilliant track from Francois & The Atlas Mountains they really have landed some peaches for us here. Not everyone hits the spot out of the twenty but they have more than enough quality through the majority of tracks to warrant a purchase.
The book and DVD are out now through Forest Publications.
