Lazenby - The Loft Years
Lazenby are an interesting band who seem to have gone through a bit of a journey to get to this point. Having formed, split, reformed and extended the numbers in the band within a few years, it’s fair to say they have had a chequered past.
The one thing they will find difficult is proving that they have substance as well as style, they’ve already been kitted out by some of the top fashion designers and that will add fuel to the fire in the suspicious music business.
Their debut album The Loft Years though should go some way to redressing the balance, it’s an album that mixes electro, pop and soul in equal measure and is built around the vocals from Sarah Lazenby.
Stand out tracks like Listening To Joni and Star have the potential to be hits and the lead singer certainly has star quality, looking like the English dominatrix version of Dita Von Teese on the cover here.
