Kraak & Smaak - The Remix Sessions

Kraak & Smaak are actually a three piece DJ/Production team from Holland, a country that has at times thrown up some very questionable DJ talents, thats probably a very kind way odf saying it!

This outfit though are a different kettle of fish to any visions of Euro cheese you may have floating around in your ahead. International DJ Magazine voted them one of the 20 acts you must see live, alongside the Chemical Brothers and they got fantastic reviews for last years Boogie Angst album.

A few tracks from that album pop up again with new mixes, but it’s the trios remixing of other artists that really stand out here. Both CDs have some excellent stuff on them, disc one gives you the brilliant Man Of Constant Sorrow from Skeewif, and Devil Inside from Max Sedgley is a classic track. The best though is the Mark Rae track Medicine, which is taken to dancefloors it could never have dreamed of.

The second CD see’s two Jamiroquai tracks taking the honours for me, with the irony not lost on me at the moment with rain bouncing down everywhere that one of the tracks is called Seven Days In Sunny June. The album is out now through Quango Music Group.
