Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape

Well i’ve just gone from reviewing one R & B diva to another here in my reviews so i’m sure that i’m gonna get stick off the indie kids for this…but hey what the hell, when have I ever pandered to the masses?

I wouldn’t put Gwen Stefani in Mary J Blige’s league but unless you don’t have a single groove in your body then it’s pretty hard not to be touched at least in the ass shaking stakes by this second long player from the peroxide blinger.

Where as the previous album had some good singles and lacked consistency throughout, this doesn’t seem to have killer singles standing out but when you have the likes of Pharrel Williams producing a couple of the best tracks on here (Wind It Up and Orange County Girl) you know it’s gonna hang together well.

So if you are still reading this indie boys and girls, put down your rare Mogwai b-side for a minute and get into the party spirit, it is coming up to Christmas after all. The Sweet Escape is out now.
