Fleetwood Mac - The Very Best Of

Fleetwood Mac are a band that come up quite often as an influence on people and as one of the best bands of the last 40 years or so, but until this point i’ve never really sat down and listened to them much at all to be honest. A two disc retrospective entitled The Very Best Of should be the perfect introduction for me.

If you’re a fan of the odd hit of theirs then yes maybe this could work for you, personally I now regard them as one of the most overrated groups of all time if this 36 tracker is the best they can come up with then i’d hate to hear the rest.

Sure Dreams and Go Your Own Way are classic pop songs, but the majority of their material is so dull and middle of the road that it’s hard to imagine you wanting to listen to a full record by them outside of the purpose of inducing sleep.

In fairness some of the bands folkier moments do hint at a side that I could possibly get into, but quite where their reputation has come from is beyond me.
