The Hives - Tick Tick Boom
Tick Tick Boom is the first single to be released from the forthcoming album to be called The Black and White Album, not sure of the exact date for release but I think it’s around the same time as the single (15th October Smartie – Kev).
Swedish garage rockers The Hives have been supporting Maroon 5 recently and based on listening to this single I bet they have been really lively openers. I quite liked the punk sound and the completely insane lyrics were quite enjoyable but I imagine that too much of this would be a bad thing. It started to get on my nerves when I’d played it though for the sixth time. Good guitar riffs with a strong beat held the track together, not rubbish but not really brilliant either.
The single is released 8th October 2007 (download from 1st October 2007).
