Fight Like Apes - Tie Me Up With Jackets
Fight Like Apes are one of my big tips for 2009, although the album Fight Like Apes And The Mystery Of The Golden Medallion has been out in Ireland for a while, it isn’t released over here until this year. With a ferocious live show that regularly descends into bedlam as Maykay heads into the crowd and a clutch of great singles it looks like it could be a brilliant debut.
The latest single from the band is the instant punk pop brilliance of Tie Me Up With Jackets, it’s one of the most accessible tracks I’ve heard from them and has huge crossover appeal. That isn’t to say that they have sold out with this though, it’s got plenty of off the wall moments within the track that stop it from going completely over to the dark side.
